A close up of Chrysanthemum Dorridge Candy

Chrysanthemum ‘Dorridge Candy’

Description

Giant plants produce extremely large, rosy-mauve flowers with darker lavender streaking, which gives blooms an airbrushed effect. Peach centers give it added warmth, which is unusual for purple mums. This variety has loads of personality.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
