A close up of Chrysanthemum Fleur de Lis

Chrysanthemum ‘Fleur de Lis’

Description

This tall variety has long, wiry branching stems topped with stunning dark sangria-purple flowers. Long, thin petals curl at the tips. This unusual novelty looks more like a sea anemone than a flower.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
