A close up of Chrysanthemum Judith Baker

Chrysanthemum ‘Judith Baker’

Description

The first time we saw this airy, deep bronze wonder, it stopped us dead in our tracks. Its palm-sized flowers are a stunning blend of rich copper and warm gold, and it mixes incredibly well with other autumn treasures. We also love to display it en masse. Tall plants produce a bumper crop of flowers and their uniform growth habit make them a great choice for cut flower growers.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
