A close up of Chrysanthemum Senkyo Kenshin

Chrysanthemum ‘Senkyo Kenshin’

Description

Tall, wispy stems need extra support under the weight of their medium-large flowers. Spider-shaped blooms are a peachy terracotta with lighter apricot petal backs. A wonderful choice for adding movement and texture to arrangements.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
