Pansy ‘Majestic Giants Sherry’
Viola x wittrockiana
Description
A true classic pansy, ‘Majestic Giants Sherry’ has huge flower heads with deep purple faces. Petals like tissue paper dipped in dye remind us of the Victorian era. The wide variation of bloom colors includes a mix of mauve, plum, and warm gold, and they would combine beautifully with ‘Nature Antique Shades’ pansies as well as ‘Gem Apricot Antique’ violas.
Details
Height: 12 to 15 in
Site: full sun
Days to maturity: 75 to 85 days
Plant spacing: 4 to 6 in
Pinch: not necessary
Seed Sowing & Growing Notes
Start seed indoors in trays 8 to 12 weeks before last frost. Seeds require darkness to germinate, so cover lightly. Pansies can withstand a light frost, so cold-climate gardeners can pick a transplant date that is about 2 weeks before the last frost.
