Hyacinth ‘Gypsy Princess’

Hyacinthus orientalis

Features

  • Fragrant
  • Suitable for containers
  • Toxic

Description

Flowers on this sweet variety are the most lovely shade of soft buttercream-yellow, and they mix so well with other spring blooms. There is a bit of distance between blossoms on each stem, lending an airy quality to this heavenly scented gem. One of our all-time favorite hyacinths.

Please note: When cut, hyacinths ooze a clear sap that can cause skin irritation. Wear gloves when harvesting or wash hands after picking.

Details

Height: 8 to 12 in
Site: full sun

Harvesting/Vase Life

If picked when one-third to one-half of the lower blossoms are open, these stems will last for 7 to 10 days in the vase.
