Chrysanthemum ‘Crimson Tide’
Description
Thick, strong stems carry sprays of 5 to 7 upward-facing, medium-large flowers. Blooms are a rich, rusty red and are perfect for fall arrangements.
Harvesting/Vase Life
Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
