A close up of Chrysanthemum Evening Glow

Chrysanthemum ‘Evening Glow’

Description

Vigorous, widely branching plants produce large, open sprays of upward-facing quilled coral-salmon blooms. A very versatile color for arranging and a great choice for cut flower production.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
