A close up of Chrysanthemum Kokka Bunmi

Chrysanthemum ‘Kokka Bunmi’

Description

Towering plants have thick, strong stems and produce large sprays of 5 to 7 palm-sized lavender blooms. Outer petals have a haunting silvery cast. Incurved tubular petals twist and turn, giving this variety loads of personality.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
