Chrysanthemum ‘Luxor’
Description
Tall, thick stems produce extremely large sprays of flowers. One stem is a bouquet in itself! The outer petals splay out dramatically, giving this variety a star-like appearance. Silvery lavender-pink blooms have a pearly sheen.
Harvesting/Vase Life
Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
