Description
Flowers are borne in large sprays of medium-size, smoky orange blooms. The petals are tubular and quilled, and when fully open they reveal a small, single golden center. The plants are compact and bushy, and this variety is one of the first to flower.
Harvesting/Vase Life
Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
