Description
These big, bushy plants are some of the last to flower. The deep smoky red flowers have bronze petal backs, giving them an antiqued, almost metallic, look. This strong performer is great for mixed bundles and bouquets.
Harvesting/Vase Life
Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
