Borne in delicate sprays, these flowers start out a pretty blush and age to a warm champagne. They would be perfect for weddings. The short, stocky plants are well suited for containers and are some of the first to flower.
Harvesting/Vase Life
Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
