A close up of Chrysanthemum Megumi

Chrysanthemum ‘Megumi’

Description

This extremely tall variety has delicate, lacy foliage. Blooms are a clear, cheerful yellow with a domed tufted center encircled by a single ring of fluted petals, making them look like miniature suns. Beautiful displayed en masse or perfect as an accent flower.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
