Description
These very tall plants produce sprays of medium-size, almost black flowers on long, wiry stems. Petals are tubular, with long, pointed spoons on the ends. This variety is a very unique novelty.
Harvesting/Vase Life
Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
