Chrysanthemum ‘Pink Fleece’
Description
This variety is one of my long-time favorites. Plants are small to medium in size so they would be great in containers, but are still tall enough to cut. The small, lavender, feverfew-like blooms are borne in sprays. Flowers have a single ring of outer petals and a dense, domed center. They are the perfect size and are wonderful to arrange with.
Harvesting/Vase Life
Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
