Pea ‘Spring Blush’

Pisum sativum

  • Vine

Description

These super-tall vines have vigorous, upright growth with very pronounced tendrils and 2-tone purple flowers. This snap pea has a green base and an airbrushed cranberry wash. This variety is my favorite and was the sweetest of all the peas in our Peace Seedlings snap and snow pea trial.

Details

Plant type: annual
Height: 5 to 6 ft
Site: full sun
Days to maturity: 70 days
Plant spacing: 6 to 8 in

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes

Peas are a cool-weather crop. Direct-seed in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Provide a strong trellis or support for vines to climb.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest when the pods are brightly colored, taking care when handling delicate vines. Expect a vase life of 5 to 7 days.
