The smaller, dense panicles of this variety have tiny, grape-purple single flowers. When flowers are fully open, you can see a tiny golden eye in the center. This fairly plain, standard lilac has a light fragrance.

Harvesting/Vase Life
Harvest when one-half to three-quarters of the flowers on the bloom cluster are open and immediately remove most or all of the leaves. Using heavy clippers, recut the stem ends, slice vertically up the stem 2 to 3 inches (5 to 8 cm), and twist backward. Plunge the cut stems immediately into cool water. You can also use Quick Dip and then place stems into water with hydrator. Expect a vase life of 5 to 6 days.
