Zinnia ‘Desert Sunset Mix’
Zinnia elegans
Description
Mix includes ‘Benary’s Giant Carmine’, ‘Benary’s Giant Coral’, and ‘Benary’s Giant Orange’
These are some of the largest-flowered varieties in the zinnia family with a high percentage of double flowers. Plants reach 3 to 4 ft tall, have long, strong stems, and have great disease resistance. This mix includes my favorite warm-toned ‘Benary’s Giant’ colors: Coral, Orange, and Carmine. They make a bold statement when combined with acid-green or deep maroon flowers and foliage.
Details
Height: 36 to 48 in
Site: full sun
Days to maturity: 75 to 90 days
Plant spacing: 9 in
Pinch: when 8 to 12 in tall
Seed Sowing & Growing Notes
Start seed indoors in trays 4 to 6 weeks before last frost; transplant out after all danger of frost has passed. Zinnias can also be direct-seeded once the weather has warmed.
