A bunch of Chrysanthemum ‘Alexis’.

Chrysanthemum ‘Alexis’

Description

Lovely soft, warm lavender flowers with a slight golden wash over the centers are borne on medium-size plants. The incurved petals give the flowers a very textural look. They are great to arrange with and would be perfect for mixed bouquets.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
