A close up of Chrysanthemum Coral Reef

Chrysanthemum ‘Coral Reef’

Description

This variety is very delicate for a spider shape. Long, thin stems carry medium-size blooms that have long, wispy coral-orange tubular petals with lighter yellow tips. Petal tips curl inward, giving it even more texture.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
