A close up of Chrysanthemum Mocha

Chrysanthemum ‘Mocha’

Description

The long, wiry stems on this towering variety produce sprays of large, metallic cocoa blooms. Curled-back petals have a rusty cast to them. With a unique color and texture, these spider-shaped blooms are perfect for flower arranging.

Harvesting/Vase Life

Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
