Chrysanthemum ‘Pumpkin’
Description
These knee-high plants are extremely productive and churn out loads of miniature, burnt-orange blooms with fluffy golden centers. Similar in appearance to the popular variety ‘Bronze Fleece’, but flowers are smaller and brighter orange in color.
Harvesting/Vase Life
Harvest individual stems when the flowers are one-half to two-thirds open. For spray varieties, harvest when one-quarter of the flowers on a stem have opened. Chrysanthemums are notorious for making their water murky. To combat this and extend their vase life, add a few drops of bleach to the water. Expect a vase life of more than 2 weeks with floral preservative.
